Canadian Club seeks Board member(s)

August 31, 2010

Dear members of the Canadian Club of Norway,

The club needs to add at least one new member to its Board from January 2011. Specifically, we are looking for a well-organized person who can take over two roles:

1) Membership Coordinator: This mainly involves sending out renewal notices, encouraging non-members to join the club, monitoring the payment of membership dues, and keeping the membership list up to date. The renewal process takes place in the first half of the year; in the second half, this role is largely confined to recording any new members who join.

2) Information Coordinator: From 2011, this will mainly involve circulating information regarding the club's events throughout the year, mostly by email but also to a few members by post. The Information Coordinator is not generally required to draft the messages, but must ensure that they are correct and clear before circulating them. Until now this position has also included the role of webmaster, but that will be handled by another Board member in the new year.

If you are interested in joining the Board but not in those capacities, we would still very much like to hear from you. We are open to adding more than one new Board member in the new year.

The Board meets 2-3 times a year and otherwise stays in touch by email. Board members serve on a volunteer basis for at least one year, preferably longer. While a seat on the Board does not bring any monetary reward, it will give you an opportunity to make a vital contribution to the club and a strong say in how it is run. The club's bylaws are available here.

If you would like to serve on the Board or require further information, please contact Canadian Club President Jay Gustafson: jay(at)multicase(dot)no, mobile 412 41 993.

Best regards,

The Board of the Canadian Club of Norway
